Can't Connect to XP IIS

Hi:

I have installed IIS on Windows XP professional. I can access with a
browser just fine when I am on the local machine, but I can't access
from a remote machine on my home network. I have installed and worked
with IIS on Windows Server lots of times before, and I'm not sure what
is wrong here. I get a 404 error when I try to connect. Here is a
rundown:

1. Have given the IIS Gues User full control rights to the virtual
directory. Can't get to the root either
2. Have not changed the port to anything different than 80.
3. Not a default document thing, just trying to go direct to the file.
4. Tried different browsers. Takes a while to load and eventually gives
me a "timed out message" (Firefox) and a cannot find server in IE
5. I've tried using IP instead of computer name, doesn't work.
6. I can browse shares on the remote IIS computer just by computer name
on the remote computer.

I have tried closing the browsers on the local machine, thinking maybe
there was a limitation of one connection to IIS when installed on XP.
Any ideas?

Thanks,
Kayda

Check your firewall and any third party security software. You need to
open TCP port 80.
