Can't Connect to Internet

Had adware problems, fixed, but had to reload Windows 98SE, after that lost
internet connection. Spent 1 hour on phone with cable internet provider,
have signal to computer and to Lynksis router (other computer running off
routerworks fine). Reloaded ie6 sp1. Still no connection. Help!
