can't connect though VPN

I have windows 2000 server install at my client's office. I want to access
the share folders securely and remotely. My remote computer has windows xp
pro. What is the best way to connect to it.

Make sure you have the users who will need to connect via
VPN that they have dial and remote access enabled.

Set up a VPN connection on the XP machine by going to
Network connections and "make new connection"

Allowing VPN access may require that you reconfigure RAS on the Windows 2000
server, to allow that access.

You might want to ask in a server-specific group the steps involved--be sure
to specify how RAS is now being used--whether you are doing ICS, etc.
