Can't completely clear history

R

Robert A.

Hi guys,

When I clear history and check the history everything is gone, however, when
I start typing a URL some sites still come up in the auto-type area. Where
is that data being stored ? I realized a few web sites do that because I
started www.a... to www.z... and three sites I visited were there even after
I cleared my history (the rest were gone.) One site was newsmax.com which I
didn't even visit, it was from a damn pop-up ad; that's a sneaky trick.

How do I get rid of that stuff ? I like to use the arrow keys after I type
in the beginning of a URL but if I can't clear it it becomes a real pain.
Thanks.
