When I try to publish my online web to a newly-created
web on the computer (IIS is running, with http:/computer
name/myweb2 showing as the destination website to publish
to)I get the following error message when it gets to the
part that says "Processing web changes(or something like
that)I get the following error message:

"The server sent a response which frontpage could not
parse. If you are trying to connect to a frontpage
server, check with the server's administrator to make
sure the frontpage server extensions are installed
properly"

I have done a re-calculation on the web,and checked to
make sure the server extensions on my computer are
running, and it indicates that it is.

Is this a windows xp pro issue or a frontpage issue?

Peter:

Thanks for the response. This article seems to be for
when you are trying to publish to your online web. My
problem is that I can't publish from my online site to my
computer-based website (I do this to back up the online
website, where I publish the online site from my other
computer. I have been doing this for over a year
successfully. I have re-installed xp pro and office 2000,
but seemed to have the same problem prior to that.

1) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all FP Temp Files
Usually in C:\WINDOWS\Temp and %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temp
- in FP 2003 you need to look in the super hidden folder
%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\FrontPageTempDir
2) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all hidden *.web files
Usually in %USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Microsoft\Web Server Extensions\Cache
3) Open your local host subsite in FP - File Open Web/Site http:/computername/myweb2/ and run a Tools Recalculate Hyperlinks
4) Open your online web in FP and also run a Tools Recalculate Hyperlinks and try to publish
(if using FP 2003 you don't need to open the remote site, you can just select the Remote web Site View and select to publish from
Remote to Local)

PS
Does your remote site have any files over 1MB in it?
