can't change line style

In using Powerpoint 2003 org chart diagram, I want to change the connector lines to arrowheads. However, when I select the line, and click on the Arrow Style box on the Drawing toolbar, it is grayed out (not active). How do I make this active?

Right-click and choose Format Object. Use the Begin and End styles at the bottom of that dialog to add the arrows.
