I thought I was being smart by removing my old drive and installing a new
one before installing xp pro. This is a single drive computer. I formated
and installed xp pro and when it rebooted.... it was designated drive "H"..
My usb was drive C my other usb was drive D and my dvd's were E and F. Not
a problem (talking to self). I went in and tried to change to C... changed
all the others and then tried my "H" drive and no can do... seems it is the
boot drive... Any suggestions?? Will I have to uninstall all periphials
and disconnect them and then reformat and reinstall xp pro... then
reconnect all others... grrrrrrrrr.

One should always disconnect everything except for screen, keyboard and
mouse.. your assumptions are correct, btw.. happy re-installing..
