Can't Change Default Setting in Outlook 2000

I am running Outlook 2000 under Win XP. When I set Outlook it to use Word 2000 as my e-mail editor it defaults to an ivory font color which is essentially invisible. Every time I change the default settings to black they change back to the ivory font color. Do I have to uninstall and reinstall Office 2000 to be able to change my default settings?

Where are you trying to change the settings; in Word or Outlook

The only other thing I can think of is if you are using a theme and not
changing the font of the theme you want. Then you have to tell Outlook
"always use my fonts".

Thanks Jim

With your help I got the font problem straightened out but now I have another minor one. When I open a blank message it opens in web layout view. Is there a way to change it to open in normal view? Also the spacing between lines seems to be about double but it's set to single space. Any ideas as to what would cause that to happen

Can you start a new thread for this problem? I don't have an answer at the
moment, but others here might.

Thanks!
