I bought an OEM version of Vista Home Premium and my 3 year-old box doesn't
even recognize the cd.

Can't boot up to it, and when I boot into XP, the OS doesn't even recognize
there is a CD in the drive.

What should I look at first?

Bad news is I'm really not sure what a lot of my hardware is. All I know is
its an NVidia graphics card which I've read ya'll comment so much about.

Look at your drive first. Does it say "CD" or "DVD"?
Vista comes on a DVD so a CD drive won't read it.

Thanks for the reply.

Yep. I think you hit the nail on the head. I've got 2 cd drives: a
read-only and a RW burner.

Neither are DVD.

Looks like I'm buying a DVD drive.

Thanks LSR. I'll try that first.
