Can't boot from Hard Disk

I have installed Win Xp sp2 on my computer. The BIOS is set to boot from
IDE0 to which the HD is connected. Somehow, it would not boot from the hd
unless the win xp cd is in the drive. I have tried fixmbr, fixboot, and
coping ntldr files. Still same problem. I also tried reinstalling the
system. Same issue.

Can anyone help?

Thanks.
Regards,
Dipak
