Was downloading "critical updates" from Microsoft and now
I have two computers that continuously reboot, never
getting to windows. One of the downloads was for 2000,
the other for XP Home. I think it was during Service Pack
6 update that the problem entered my computer. Anyone
else having this problem, and any solution. Any way to
run system restore from diagnostics or BIOS?

What do you mean "service pack 6" ?
Are you referring to the
Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer IE6?
(kb824145)
For windows 2000, try choosing the "last known good config"
during the boot (press F8 for the options)

For XP, try booting into safemode, and select system restore.
Restore the computer to a time prior to the updates..

If you are unable to get to safemode, post back with further details
