Can't backup or copy .pst file

..... the error message says the file is locked. I've read previous posts,
so have tried some of the fixes suggested, already, including:
- checked the Task Manager - Outlook is not running in the Processes tab
- reviewed the Outlook Plug-Ins and removed any that were not necessary
(except that Norton Anti-Spam keeps re-attaching itself)
- PDA is not connected and ActiveSync is not even in the taskbar

The reoccuring Anti-Spam add-in might be the problem, but I don't know how
to get rid of it completely. I've disabled the Anti-Spam, told it to NOT
communicate with Outlook, and removed the add-in. But, the next time I open
Outlook and check the add-ins, it's there again. Ugh!!!

Any other suggestions?

Uninstall it and try if it works now. This will at least give you certainty
about NAS indeed being the problem.

Tips of the month:
-FREE tool; QuickMail. Create new Outlook items anywhere from within Windows
-Properly back-up and restore your Outlook data

Thank you for the suggestion. I have uninstalled NAV 2005,, Norton Internet
Security, and Norton Security Center, but nothing has changed.

I did notice something today that I realize has been showing up for a few
days. When I am logged off, sitting at the user login screen, my identity
has "1 unread email message" printed underneath it. This might be where some
of the problem is occurring, because if I'm not logged in, then it shouldn't
be able to know that I have any unread messages.

Any suggestions on what I can do or where I should turn for help with this?
Thanx.

Try starting in Windows in Safe Mode. See if you can move it now. Fax
software can also be the cause of this.
