Can't automatically receive new emails

My new emails are not coming into my inbox unless I exit out of Mail and then
re-open Mail. If I hit Send/Receive, I get an error box with "Some errors
occurred while processing the requested tasks. Please review the list of
errors below for more details. But there's nothing in the Errors box. Very
annoying - - - .

Does the Errors box say "Windows Mail" at the top left? Is there a box in it
that has buttons (tabs) that say "Tasks" and "Errors"? If so, then click on
"Errors"; does that help? If any of this is not true, then tell us what part
that is not true.

Next time you have a problem, start your own new thread.

You need to add .com to the email address that you are trying to send to,

Empty your outbox before trying.

Get out of town. Don't attack me for something I didn't do! I'm not having trouble sending - I'm having trouble receiving. And I didn't hijack anything. Don't reply if you don't have anything responsive.

There's nothing in the Errors box.

That symptom can be caused by interference from an antivirus
program. Which antivirus are you running?
As a minimum, email scanning in the antivirus should be turned off,
although that may not be sufficient to eliminate all bad effects.
In a worst case scenario, your antivirus may need to be uninstalled.

Email scanning in any antivirus should be disabled, for reasons
explained here:
http://thundercloud.net/infoave/tutorials/email-scanning/index.htm

If no improvement after disabling email scanning, consider upgrading
to Windows Live Mail, because it is less prone to suffering bad effects
from overly intrusive antivirus programs:

You are unreal, if you even read what I posted, and quoted, then you would
see that I was responding to "idris", who had in fact, hijacked your
thread!!

I'll try that. Thanks.
