Can't apply templates to PowerPoint projects!

Guest

I am using PowerPoint 2003 and can't apply templates! Whenever I choose a
template, an error message appears. It goes something like this: <<target
file>> "file was not applied. It may not be a PowerPoint presentation".
Following that, another one comes up that says: "PowerPoint can't read
<<target file>>".

Please help!

Does this happen with the templates installed with PowerPoint, or are you
attempting to use templates acquired from another source? Are they POT files?

Yes! It happens with pre-installed templates and yes, they are POT files. I
downloaded the Templates Pack 1 from Microsoft but have the same problem with
the new ones.

I'm thinking that you should run Detect and Repair, but first - - try opening
PowerPoint and then go to File > Open and select "All PowerPoint Presentations"
in the "Files of Type" box. Find a template and select it. Does it open
without a problem?

Well, I tried what you said but the same things happens. I'm going to try
Detect and Repair, enev though I've installed and uninstalled Office several
times to try and fix the problem. In any case, thank you very much, Sonia! :)

When you go to Format > Slide Design, do you see the template thumbnails at the
right?
