My contacts file has gone mad! Every time a click "Add New Contact" a box
appears for a nano second and then vanishes, making it impossible to add a
new contact. Any ideas???

There's another way to add contacts: Wait until you receive mail from the
person you want to add as a contact. Then, while you are reading that mail,
click on Tools, then Add Sender to Contacts.

Also it sometimes helps to start Windows Mail, then click on Tools, then
Windows Contacts, then right click in the empty space under the right side
of the toolbar, then click on Customize This Folder, then the triangle, then
Contacts, then Apply, then OK, then the X at the top right corner of the
Contacts window, then restart Windows Mail.

If neither of these help, an assortment of problems in Windows Mail are
caused by interference from antivirus programs, although seldom immediately.
What if any antivirus programs do you have?
