hello

i have various notebooks compal, and all have windows vista home premium,
and i can't access to any of my routers configuration page, i have MSI's an
SMC's, i dont receive any answer from ie 7

thank you for the help you can give

Hi Jorge,

Click the start orb. In the search box, type the following:
'http://192.168.0.1' and press enter. A dialogue should appear asking for
credentials (a user name and password) to enter the router configuration. If
this does not work, then check the router itself for instructions,
specifically the address which is usually, but not always, as above. If it is
different, substitute the address for the address on the router. Note that if
you have the classic menu enabled, then you click 'Run...' and enter the
address there.

If the computer is not using an IP on the router, either a DHCP IP issued by
the router or the NIC has been manually configured to use a static IP on
the router, and the machine cannot assess the device IP on the router to
access the router's admin screens, then the machine doesn't have a
connection to the router.

If the router is issuing DHCP IP(s), and the computer's NIC has the 169. IP
assigned to the NIC, then the O/S assigned that IP to the NIC. The machine
cannot access the router's device IP nor can the machine access the
Internet, since the machine is not using an IP on the router.

It's a sign of trouble and the machine is not using an IP on the router, if
the 169 IP has been assigned to the NIC.

You can use the netsh command to see if it will buy you anything as it's a
solution that has been used with Vista and router connection problems.

netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disable

thank you

thats the problem, my router have 192.168.100.254 ip address, but the it

The router uses a scripting language like JavaScript. Maybe, one of the
options in IE7 is enabled or disable that is preventing the access of the
router's admin screens.

do you know what option?, i have already search for that option and a i
didn't find it

Alright well this happened to me. Whenever you go to "192.168.1.1" in ur
browser it is just white right? Well go to your router, unplug everything
including power for a few seconds. Then plug power back into the router
(remember only the router) and then hold down the little reset button that is
somewhere on there for 20 - 25 seconds. Plug everything back in, and it
should work.

You aren't trying to connect to it wirelessly are you? You should never
change settings via wireless connection to a router (I screwed up my first
router that way :P) and perhaps Vista won't let you to avoid problems? Try
connecting via a network cable and see if you can access it then.

I don't know. I am sure it's going to have the word Java in it. I once did
some security settings in IE6 that stop the router admin screens from
working.

I have to get to work.

Bye.

yes, a am trying to access to config page by wired network, i tought too that
the blame was windows vista, but a can't explain why trough desktop pc with
vista i can access to routers config....i think the problem is in cpu
architecture all Core 2 Duo
