Can't access shared files from the same computer as the share :-(

Stangest thing. I setup a shared folder. Give all users access (both
local and on the share itself). All users can browse the files localle
(on C:) and when they type in \\computername they can see the shared
folder, but if they try opening it they get an error about the share
not beeing available, and that you might not have the rights etc etc

What should I check. Have never seen anything like this.
With all users having all right, why is it not working.

None of the shares on the computer is accessible through UNC path.
Not even when logged in as Administrator (and with all rights).

Are you using Simple File Sharing? (this is your only option in XP Home, but
you haven't mentioned that).
What are the share permissions? And the NTFS permissions, if you aren't
using Simple File Sharing?

It was setup with that. But I changed to normal file sharing earlier.

All users have full rights, both to the local files (and that work)
and to the share (that does not work). When I type in \\name I can see
all the shared folders on the system, but I can't open those :-(

Full rights means, full control, right?

If you're not using Simple File Sharing, make sure that all user accounts &
passwords match - as in, the computer you're trying to connect from, is
using a login name & password that match an account & password on the host
computer.

This is on the same computer. I can't access the files on the local
computer using UNC notation (files locally on the computer).

I can see the folder contents with "c:\Shares\Documents", but I can
only see the shared "Documents" from "\\mycomputer\", I cannot open
the folder with "\\mycomputer\Documents" (shared with same name).

Strange, eh :-)
