I've got a mixed environment network, most machines are running on an
Active Directory domain (Newdomain) but there are a few legacy machines
that are still running on the original NT 4.0 Domain (olddomain). One
of the users on newdomain can access all of the shares on olddomain
through My Network Places except for one machine, when he trys to
connect to that machine he is prompted for a user name and password and
then gets denied , even if the machines local administrator password is
used.
Using \\192.168.1.1\c$ I can get him to an administrative share by
providing the appropriate credentials but this isn't the long term
answer. Everyone else that is on newdomain is able to access the
server and all of it's shares just fine without any password challenges
so I think it must be something this user has changed on his machine.
Thoughts, suggestions?
TIA,
Bob
