canon s820

just bought a canon s820 printer and it makes a lot of noise at the begining
and the end of the print process. Did any s820's owners experience this ?

It's probably just the maintenance process that ensures the printhead is
kept clean. To verify, go to a store that has the S820 on display and
have them print a sample for you.

Definitely at the beginning of the cycle this is normal. I can't recall if
it is making 'a lot of noise' at the end, although it does make some
'different' noises then.

thanks guys, I was a bit worried about that noise as I bought this printer
from Ebay for a good price.
So this printer is slow and noisy but it seems to work perfectly right.

When you say slow, how slow do you mean. It should print a full sheet in a
little over 2 minutes. What product are you using to print from? I've also
purchased a couple of extra s820's off eBay and both of them have been
perfect.
