For now, printer's output is okay, but it is operating with a loud
"rrrrrrrr" sound when the printhead moves or the paper is advanced.
I'm afraid something is partially busted but not critical enough yet
to cause a malfunction.

Any ideas?
Thanks.

You could try putting some light oil on that horizonal bar that the
print head rides back and forth on. However, that is not going to fix
noise in the paper advance. Some light lithium grease on the gear
mechanism might help there. When you hear noise, something is binding
and this makes more work for the motors that run it. They will wear
out more quickly.
