i need help with installing this printer to my windows
xp, office xp products. I have searched to download
drivers only to be told it is not supported. This is
extremely distributing to upgrade microsoft products only
to realize that other equipment is not compatible. It is
terrible to support microsoft by purchasing it's product
to then have to turn around and spend more money on
printers, fax, and scanner. When I had it all rolled into
one before.

This is a really old printer that was originally produced back in the days
of Windows 3.1. There have never been drivers for WindowsNT, 2000 or for
XP. You cannot expect Canon to continue writing updated drivers for such an
old product... it's not economically viable for them to do so. They are
responsible for the drivers for their products, NOT Microsoft.

There are plenty of All in One Units that are fully compatible with XP...
see the Canon website at:

Statistics show that folks change their PCs every 2 years with the average
life of a printer being 5 years. Your C2500 is well over 9 years old. It's
had a good run. Time to retire it.

Of course there is nothing stopping you returning to Windows95, 98, 98se or
ME which are compatible with the C2500.

If you purchased WindowsXP within the last 30 days on a retail basis, you
can return it to Microsoft and have your money refunded.

There is also www.microsoft.com/hcl where you can check whether hardware is
compatible BEFORE you purchase.
