Canon mp830 vs mp960 (vs my old Hp 7310), photo prints, cost per print etc?

I'm replacing my hp7310 with a new unit.. I like the idea of having an
ADF, which the mp960 doesnt have.. but I rarely use it, still it is
something I want in the new unit.

Also, the mp960 states it can scan negatives, I'm assuming there is no
way to make the 830 scan negatives?

The 830 is listed as 5 color vs the 960 at 7.. I'm assuming either
way, the photo quality will be much better than the HP printer?

I discovered the Fuji Kiosk at a local store.. that does prints (4x6)
for 15 cents on 2 day processing or 25 cents for instant.. I was
shocked that the print quality on these pictures was Better than my
HP7310..

I'm hoping with the 830 (my current target printer), that the quality
will at least be the same as this Fuji kiosk (better than the HP)..
though I would guess the quality may not be quite as nice as the
mp960?

Can anyone comment on the cost per 4x6 on the mp830? Is just the ink
alone going to be 30 cents per picture.. if so, adding paper, that may
push 60 cents a print.. still not bad if so, for doing it yourself.

Lastly, I'm guessing that the canon scanning abilities is going to be
much faster/better than the HP based on what I read? (Hoping for the
ability to lay multiple photos down and have them exported to
individual files automatically)..

Thanks for any input..

I am not surprised that the print quality of photos were better at the
kiosk. The HP7310 is an all-in-one for home and small business, not
designed for picture printing. If you are comparing apples to apples,
then an HP Photosmart All-in-one is what should be compared. Canon
mp830, like an Hp Photosmart, is designed with picture printing in
mind.

The 30 cents per picture is ink only and not including photo paper for
the Canon mp830.

Photo scanning depends on the settings and format you choose.

Not necessarily. If you want the best photo quality in your Officejet 7310
replace the #96 black cartrdige with a #99 photo cartrdige. This will give
excellent six color printing on quality photo paper, and will give similar
photo quality to HP's Photosmart all-in-ones.

You could get prints of similar quality from the HP Photo Value Pack 95/99
with 100 sheets of photo paper and #95 and #99 cartrdiges, the cost is about
$0.39 a print for paper and ink. See
