Canon LPB 600 & Windows XP

Andi

I am having difficulty with a Canon LPB660.

The computer it was connected to was recently replaced by a new machine
running WinXP Home with Service Pack 2. The Canon website does not have
drivers for this printer for XP, however after reading round, people have
suggested that the Win2K driver will work OK with XP. I downloaded and
installed the Win2K driver, which installed OK despite not being WHQL
certified or some such.

However, when I try to print, say from MS Word, the spool service crashes,
saying that "the memory could not be read" and the printer simply prints a
page of solid black.

Can anyone offer any advice on how to get the printer working with XP
please?

Kind regards, and thanks in advance of any assistance,

Andi Bridgwater
