Canon i860 and Linksys EPSX3 Print Server

A

Al Smith

This printer has a setting for automatically powering down when not
used. However, when I do this, I must remove the printer's power cord
from the printer, as the printer will not respond to the print
request. This only happens when using the print server, which is
configured for tcp/ip communications. The server is capable of
bi-directional printing.

If I use the printer through a "normal" USB or parallel port connectin
without the server, everything is fine.

Any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks.

The Canon is not fully supported by main stream print servers.

I have a i560 and it works perfectly with all bidirectional support.
