Canon i560 new tank compared i850

Canon i550 and i850 has the same tanks. 1 color tank is ~10$ (bci-3)

but i950, i560 and i865 has new (?) tanks (bci-6).
1 colortank is ~11$ =33$ for a full color change

....it sounds expensive compared to i450-tank, full 3-color for 8$.

Is this fair prices?

2. Extra photo colors (i850)
a) If they are seldom used, will they clog?
b) If seldom used, will they get drained when cleaning other
printheads?

The BCI-3 and BCI-6 series tanks hold almost 3 times as much ink (color for
color) as their BCI-24 series counterparts. Easily, the i550, i560, i860,
i960 etc. are more economical in the long run than the i320, i450, i470,
etc. printers.

Non-Canon ink tanks cost about 30-40% of the Canon price. It doesn't make
sense to not use the printer when printing is so economical.

That said, I've left my printer unused for a month at time and never
experienced drying.
