Canon & Epson Printer choices...

Been thinking in replacing my Epson 740

Been mostly used for the odd photo print, use a old HP 4L for most of my
printing.

The Epson R315/300 is now out here and is priced the same as the Canon
i865, but it looks like the Canon is only a 3 colour printer plus Black and
to have 2 Black ink tanks..?

The Epson R315/300 seems to have stacks of features for the money but is it
worth it , plus running costs..?

A mate has dumped his Epson 925 as the running costs were to high..

Or is their any other printer I should look at, not HP or Lexmark thanks.

Thanks

TomsHardware.com recommended the Canon i960. I bought one and it really
produces some nice prints, much better than my older HP which has a larger
dot pitch so it isn't a fair comparison. Their glossy paper is sweet too
and the ink cost isn't as damaging as HP.

2 times the price here when compared to the new Epson and both do not have
OEM cartridge support, you pay through the nose for Canon Inks..

What is the Print life, Canon does not list it, plus I was told that the Print
head has a 30 day warrantee..?

Here is the ink info on the Canon 5 tank system:

Ink Compatibility: BCI-6Bk Black ink tank, BCI-3eBk Black ink tank,
BCI-6C Cyan ink tank, BCI-6M Magenta ink tank, BCI-6Y Yellow ink tank

In order to get their 6 tank system you need to go up to at least the
model i960.
