cannot wrap text after 1245 characters

I have used a general format for a cell after merging 7 cells. Now I have a
paragraph of 1525 characters...after the 1245 character the text doesnt wrap
& continues on the same line.

hence on the cell the paragraph stops at the 1245 character but the entire
paragraph of 1525 character appears on the formula bar.

how do i rectify this
 
Try putting in a few line-breaks ..
With the cursor at the break point,
press Alt + ENTER to break for a new line
(repeat to do a couple of line breaks)
