Cannot view source in IE 6.0

Hi,
I have big problems as I cannot view source in my
browser. In a newsgroup I read that removing all
references to notepad.exe and notepad.exe itself (+
reinstall :)) would help - but it has not.
No matter what program I specify as HTML-editor for IE 6
nothing helps.
My system is XP-home. It has not allways been like this,
but I cannot remember when it startet - maybe with an IE
upgrade.
I would appreciate any help and suggestions.

I heard of someone having same problem. Cured by clearing out temporary
internet file and deleting cookies !!

Worth a try

This is usually fixed by emptying the Temporary Internet Files.

Also, if you have a shortcut to Notepad on your desktop rename it to Npad.

Some people have reported that Quick View Plus can cause this.

I have tried all that you suggested without any success.
The strange thing is, that sometimes it happens that I
CAN view the source but immediately after I cannot! And I
cannot reconstruct the situation!
Any other suggestions?

goto control panel/internet options thenclick on the programs tab, there are
several small text boxs listed, some already contain programs... In the
"HTML editors ensure that "norepad" is showing as the selected program, use
the small arrow to see if other programs are available.
