Cannot view, open or delete an assigned task

Running OL2003, with Windows XP Pro SP2.

I have a task assigned to me which is in my inbox, I can see it, I can view
the contents in the preview pane but I cannot open it. In the preview pane
clicking the accept or reject buttons does nothing. There seem to have been
quite a few reports of this problem when I search through Google but no
resolutions or responses seem to have been forthcoming so hoping that someone
here can help with this.

We use assigned tasks quite a lot - its a great system when it works so a
fix for this is urgent! My assistant has the same problem with this as well
running XP Home SP2.

I am experiencing the same issue of not being about to accept task
assignments. this started after the security update on 1/12/06 I believe. i
can assign tasks to someone that has NOT taken the download and they can
accept. the issue comes when they or anyone else that HAS taken the new
update try and assign to me or anyone else who has had the update. you don't
have the ability to accept or decline the tasks anymore. any news on an
update in progress? i can see a bunch of people having issues within news
groups and here with this issue. Please reply.

Thanks,

Jason

I am having the same problem. I have yet to find a fix other than removing
the security patches which I am hesitant to do. I have searched the MS
support site but have not found a fix or a work around. This would seem like
a very HUGE problem but I don't even see MS acknowledging the issue.
Hopefully someone will discover a fix and let us all know real soon.

Cheers

Same problem here. I have spend hours searching the Internet for a solution
for this problem with no luck. There must be someone out there who has a fix
for this problem.
