cannot uninstall/reinstall Windows Service Pack 2

I am having some issues with Internet Explorer and I would like to Uninstall
and Reinstall Windows XP Service Pack2. It does not appear in the control
panel add/remove programs window and i tried to RUN
c:\windows\$NtServicePackUninstall$\spuninst\spuninst.exe as described in
article 87530 but it could not be found. Is there any other way to safely
remove this and reinstall it?

A pity you don't create restorable backups/images regularly.

I would use the Files and Settings Transfer Wizard to save your files and
settings to CD/DVD, format and reinstall XP and SP2, and then restore the
files and settings.

How to use the Files and Settings Transfer Wizard -

Or slipsteam the two versions and created an updated Windows CD that you use
to restore the system.

This site has info on slipsteaming - http://www.theeldergeek.com/

Did you or someone else install SP-2?
If so someone deleted the files necessary to uninstall, possibly to save
space.
Or was SP-2 included with Windows?
If so, there is no uninstall possibility.
Either way, SP-2 can not be uninstalled.

If the issue is recent, System Restore may help:
Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore

Before doing something as drastic as uninstalling/reinstalling a Service
Pack, start a new thread and post details of the original IE issue.
Perhaps someone can help you with the actual problem.
