cannot surf when using battery power!

When connected to wireless router showing full battery
and excellent 11mbps connection and i switch to battery
power I cannot access interent pages except some like
google and yahoo
I have a dell inspiron 8600 wireless please help because
Dell cant abd they want to reinstall xp

I don't understand how it can "sort of" work, e.g. you say you can get
to google and yahoo.

What is the exact error message, or the specific symptoms you see which
make you conclude that it is not working?

If you plug in the power cord, is all ok?

Does your laptop's wireless network adapter automatically switch to
power save mode when your laptop is running off its batteries? I've
found that some wireless routers (especially my Linksys BEFW11S4
Wireless B router) have trouble communicating with wireless devices in
power management modes.

Try disabling all power saving features of your laptop's wireless
network adapter and see if that helps at all...
