I haven't been able to run my Movie Maker application in some time...I looked
thru previous posts & replies & tried all the fixes:
-I do not have the "Registered Packet" file specified in the microsoft fix
-I have downloaded & installed from Cnet
-I renamed Intervideo

After ll that, I still get this error:
Windows Movie Maker has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are
sorry for the inconvenience.
AppName: moviemk.exe AppVer: 2.0.3312.0 ModName: qedit.dll
ModVer: 6.5.2600.2180 Offset: 0001b2af

Does anyone have any other ideas?? I really love this program...

The following article may offer some ideas:

And...some users have reported problems
after installing IE7. If this applies to your
situation ...uninstalling IE7 may be worth
a try.

I get the same error when I try to start Movie maker too, the version
is different though:

Error Signature
AppName: moviemk.exe AppVer: 2.1.4026.0.0 ModName: qedit.dll
ModVer: 6.5.2600.2180 Offset: 0001b2af

I will try re-installing IE7 if I have too, but that will be a pain.
