cannot start windowss firewall service

Hello-

don't know how this happened. ever since i installed xp
sp2, my internet connection / networking has been
inconsistent. i have a pc hooked up to a wireless router.
i used to have zonealarm pro installed but i removed it
because i was having trouble.

now, when i rightclick on my network connection, go to
properties, click advanced and then settings,and am
offered to start my windows firewall, i get an error when
i try to start it. if i go to the error log, it says
cannot start windows firewall, access denied, error=5

how to fixe this?
