cannot start microsoft

The message I'm receiving says "Cannot start microsoft office outlook. Unable
to pen the outlook windo. The server is not available." I'm trying to read
email but nothing will open. Help needed. thanks

What's the version of Office, create a new profile and check if it works, to
no more about how to create a new profile try this article

I had to create a profile there was nothing there and then I proceeded to set
up the email again and when I did the test it failed saying: "Send test email
message, the specified server was found, but there was no response from the
server. Please verify that the port & SSL information is correct. Toaccess
these settings close this dialog then click more settings and click advanced
tab." I checked all settings look correct. Not sure what to do now. Also
before I lose everything that was in my email folders is there a way to save
everything?

Verify that you have checked off the box in your account set up that says
your outgoing server requires authentication and that you have also checked
the box that says to use the same settings as your incoming mail server.

To add, when you created a new profile its likely you also created a new
data file.
Your old data will still be available

But I'm still not receiving mail transferred from bellsouth to outlook

OK, I just checked mail again and it is all coming thru, but....all of the
folders I had set up have disappeared, it is like it is a new account - I
used the same screeen name when I set it up. Is there a way for me to
retrieve the old folders and move them into the new account?

Within OL, File>Open>Data File....browse for the previous data file
By default OL sets up an outlook.pst file, if when creating a new profile a
new data file was created then likely the new one is outlook1.pst
