Cannot send or receive

We have just installed Outlook 2003 on Windows XP SP2 on a relatively new
computer. We have removed all NOrton stuff. We can setup an email account
and have it test successfully for both send and receive. When we create a
new message and try to send it, nothing happens.

The send/receive button does not show in the Standard toolbar. The only
suggestion in Outlook help is to create an email account. We did that.
Where else can we look to get this button to show on the toolbar and be able
to send and

receive? We thought removing Norton would help but it did not. We even
have the Windows Personal Firewall turned off.

Remove ABCD from Email address to reply

Go to Tools\Email Accounts\view or change email accounts\change\Test account
settings. This will tell you if the account was set up properly. If you
fail, suggest you contact ISP for the correct settings.

As stated in our message. We did setup an account and it can both send and
receive successfully when we click the Test Accounts Settings. We have the
same settings successfully working on other computers at this location. This
one computer is being uncooperative and we cannot figure out why. We do not
see the Send/Receive button in the toolbar. When we first launch Outlook, it
is there for a couple of seconds then it dissappears.
