"cannot send mail" "no program is set up to send mail using internet shortcuts"

I have this problem with IE6 . I don't see why it can't
be fixed "without " a full reinstall of WinXP Home. I
get the prompt: "cannot send mail" "no program is set up
to send mail using internet shortcuts" whenever I try to
use an eimail link in IE6. Answers to this dilema are
sparse on the web and even here a Microsoft's site.

Go to Start | Run and type this command, with the double quotes and spaces:

"C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe" /reg

and then make sure that OE is selected as the default mail program in both
IE and OE.

To set Outlook 98, 2000 or 2002(XP) as the default mail client,- Go to
Start, Run - Type in the following with quotation marks and press ok
"C:\program files\microsoft office\office\outlook.exe" /checkclient
