We will need to see the complete error message. Right-click
on it, copy, then paste into a reply here.

I am having the same problem and my internet provider stated at it is a
problem with windows mail. Here is the message I receive:Your server has
unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include
server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Subject
'Re: ', Account: 'Jackie', Server: 'smtp.east.cox.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port:
25, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

Are you connecting to the internet through some other internet provider
than cox.net when you see that problem? For example, if you're using
a wireless connection, your computer sometimes connects through a
neighbor's wireless server, and therefore their internet provider instead
of yours. If so, connections to port 25 are often blocked to cause
problems for spammers. Check if this helps you find instructions for
using some other port instead:

Just trying all the ports is a very slow way to find out, since there
are about 65,000 ports available and it's unlikely that more than
a few of them will accept outgoing mail.
