Have cable connection and using OUTLOOK for mail. We are travelling
and are using wireless connection. We can receive email but for some
reason we cannot send. I've checked our settings and they are correct
for our at home ISP but have no idea if they should change when
travelling.
Does this sound familar to anyone? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Sounds very familiar. Your ISP probably refuses connections from IP
addresses outside of their assigned pool. You should check with their FAQ to
see if they make provision for access from non-local (to them) IP addresses.
You may have to use the SMTP server for the service you connect from. Or you
could sign up for a Gmail account. Gmail will allow you to configure an
account to use their secure SMTP server (port 465 with SSL enabled for MS
Outlook). You have to also submit your ISP email address for verification
for use as the "From:" email address through their SMTP server.

Thanks Norman. Will check it out.
