Cannot send emails from pop3 account

Please help I cannot send mails via micrsoftmail using vista ( new laptop). I
recieve the following error

The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'wed', Account:
'pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk', Server: 'smtp.mail.yahoo.co.uk', Protocol: SMTP,
Port: 530, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

If anyone can shed some light would be much appriciated

Yahoo now uses the following servers...

Incoming Mail Server (POP3): mail.btinternet.com
Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): mail.btinternet.com
using SMTP port 587

that for some reason you have chosen to ignore... nevertheless
read on for yet another attempt to help you...

Your "Server: 'pop3' " is incorrect.

You need to ask your Internet Service Porvider for the correct information.

It is highly likely to have been included in the documentation that you
will have received received from the ISP.

If you are too shy or otherwise unable to contact your ISP, or even unable
to browse their web site support pages to access the information,
tell us who your ISP is and we may be able to find out for you.

Who is your ISP?

hi hope this may help i also had trouble sending and rec mail
so will try to talk you what i did.
you will need your pop server name and smtp server name.

mine are pop.nltworld.com
smtp.nltworld.com
these go in your servers box tab and include your username and password.

leave log on using secure password.

go to adavanced tab,making sure your boxes are unchecked

Make sure that
"This server requires a secure connection (SSL)" is not checked."
(the message suggests that yours is ticked)

Tools > Accounts > your email > Properties > Advanced

AND the SMTP server reads "mail.btinternet.com"

the servers didnt work as yahoo ireland piggybacks on yahoo uk

Dont know why it never worked before but all seems to be ok now using

pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk
smtp.mail.yahoo.co.uk

Using same settings as incoming server or authentication and no boxes
checked in advanced.

was sure all this had been done before !!!!!

You have to already have an email account somewhere.
You need to enter their server names, and your email account username and
password.

authsmtp.NetZero.com
Windows Mail says not valid & please verify correct.

Also have rec'd error message that pop is incorrect.

If I understand NetZero's instructions correctly, you must either
download their email program and use it instead of Windows
Mail, or pay extra for an account that lets you use Windows
Mail. Also, note their instructions about how to enter the
username.

Your email provider should have a help page on their website with the
correct names and settings.

Then go to Tools - Accounts
to enter the information.
