cannot select pages to print

I can no longer select a range of pages to print or just select pages to
print. Nothing happens when I make this selection in the print box. What's
going on?
I can still print all pages or "selection"

If your document consists of more than one section, you need to specify
the section number along with the page number. Look up "print range" in
your offline help.
