Cannot see slides in Word

I completed a Send to Word (both as a link and not a link) and in the word
document I cannot see the PPT slides. I only see blank boxes.

I have done this several times and have not seen this before. Any
suggestions?

Jill,
Just a thought but have you checked in Word, Tools - options - view tab -
view section is there a check next to show picture placeholders. Don't know
the exact wording.
