Cannot see PC in browser

This one has me baffled. We have a network of about 10 PCs, 1 running W2K
Pro, 1 running Win98, 1 running XP Pro, and the rest running XP Home. The
most recent addition to the network is not visible in the View Workgroup
Computers browser service. I can ping it. I can see it if I enter NET VIEW
\\COMPUTER_NAME at the command line. I can connect to its shares via NET
USE. But it refuses to show up in the browser. I've checked to make sure
the browser service is running. If I browse the network from the PC in
question, it sees the other PCs as being part of the network, but not
itself. The PC is running XP Home with service pack 2. Any suggestions
would be greatly apprciated.

Best,

Jim

Try:

1. Make sure the new PC has the same workgroup name.

2. On the new PC, disable the browser service; reboot; wait 12 minutes, and
then open My Network Places.
