I am trying to connect to my company's printer server; however, I can't see any other PCs on the workgroup. I verified that I am on the same workgroup. I turned off any firewall programs on my PC. I can even ping the printer server. I can't see it to add a network printer. The printer server sees my PC and when I double clicked my icon, I get "The Network Path was not found."

What can I check or do?

Ray,

What firewall programs is on your PC?

Un install the firewall completely, following all procedures provided by the
vendor. Many software firewalls do not disable properly for file sharing.

Or enable the firewall again, and open the following ports (if you can figure
out how to do this):
TCP 139, 445; UDP 137, 138, 445

Cheers,

Chuck

Hi Chuck

I unchecked the internet firewall option on the "LAN properties advance tab". I don't have any additional firewall programs

Ray,

You say you can ping the printer server, but can't see it. Can you ping it by
both name and ip address, and get a return?

Does your company have any firewalls blocking your connection? Does IT know
you're trying to do this?

What OS is your PC? The printer server? Is it a workgroup, or domain
authentication?

Cheers,
