For some reason, I am now getting the "cannot save movie to specified
location. Verify that original source file used still available, that saving
location still available" window. Have not had this issue before and not
changed how I use MM. Thanks for any help. Windows XP Media 2003 service pack
3. Thanks a salways.

This error usually indicates incompatible source files:

Have a look at the following articles:

Movie Maker 2 - Problem Solving -
'Can't Save A Movie'
http://www.papajohn.org/MM2-Issues-CantSaveMovie.html

Windows Movie Maker Error
Cannot Complete The Save Movie Wizard

The following freeware can do the conversion...
..wmv would be the best choice.

(FWIW...it's always a good idea to create a System
Restore point before installing software or updates)

Format Factory
http://www.pcfreetime.com/
(FWIW...you may want to uncheck
all the boxes on the final screen)

After downloading and installing Format Factory...
open the program and choose an Output Folder...
(this is where you will find your files after they are
converted)

Drag/drop your video clips onto the main screen...

Select 'All to ???' / OK...
(the ??? represents your choice of format)

Click...Start...on the toolbar...

That should do it...

Good luck...

I get that when I "have too many files".
Return from trip - 1600 pictures.
Last night I drag/drop them into timeline.
Chose 'create movie'. After spending some time just showing me " calculating
time "
I then got - Your error ( why I'm here right now)
SO, I created 2 folders, put half of pictures in each, ( just to make it
easier for me to track ), then created one WMV file from each - OK
THEN - new project - created movie with both of those WMV files and right
now it's making the movie. ( About 55 minutes = "estimated time to
create" ).
