Cannot save image from sites or camera

XP Home Edition

Recently when I use the 'Save image as" feature, no images are saved. I
tried setting the computer to default status, and checked the privacy
controls in the panel but this does not solve the problem. I have not, as
tht time, replaced the mouse.
