cannot run installer

I am trying to re-load my bjc scanner software to this system.
The message: cannot run installer under the current operating system, is
displayed.
How do I get around this as I dont want to update my scanner (old as it is
it is still good for my needs).
Hope someone can help

Vicki,
When I upgraded from Windows ME to XP, I went to the equipment
manufacturer's websites to find XP drivers for my older equipments (scanner,
printer, external CD Writer and Iomega Jazz Drive). You did not give
details of your scanner, but I suspect it is a Canon if so try
