cannot remove programes

Hello
I cannot remove the installed programs from my dell
precision 450 with dual CPU running on xp OS.
The problem is that the two buttons("Change" and "Remove")
under each program in the window of "Add or Remove
Programs" cannot be seen (disappeared). Pls help me
out.Thanksin advance!
