Cannot Remove Messenger

A relative was on my computer and apprently activated MSN Messenger. It is
set-up with his e-mail address and I want to delete it from my system. The
only way I can determine to get rid of his e-mail address in Messenger is to
delete the program. However, in the Remove Programs area of Control Panel it
does not appear. I assume it is embedded in Explorer. My attempt to remove
it resulted in Explorer being removed and not Messenger. Does anyone have
any suggestions? Thank you.

Thanks for the information. I went to the components section, unchecked all
the programs except Messenger and deleted the program. I ended up with
Messenger still left but I/E Explorer was deleted and I had to reinstall from
the original diskettes to gain access to the internet.

Thanks for your help. I appreciate it

If you are trying to remove MSN Messenger AND your guest's .NET Passport
information from your computer, there are two steps you must take,

STEP #1: Remove your guest's .NET Passport Association from your computer.
1. Assuming you have administrative privilages on your computer, go to
Contol Panel > User Accounts
2. Click on the name of the account affected.
3. On the left navigation bar, click on "Manage My network Passwords"
4. Select the .NET passport that is not yours, and click remove.

STEP #2: Removing MSN Messenger
1. Again, assuming you have administrative privilages, go into the Control
Panel > Add/Remove Programs.
2. Locate MSN Messenger in the control panel and click remove.
3. Follow the prompts in the uninstaller.

Hope this helps.
