Cannot reconnect to network

Until recently I have been able to connect to network
drives across a network. My LAN icon (on Windows XP
networking)now has a lock on it and I am unable to
reconnect to the network.
How do I remove this lock?

The lock just means the firewall is enabled on that connection. It's
probably not your problem, but you can turn it off by right clicking the
connection, properties, advanced tab.

Thanks I see that now. But the problem is that I am
unable to reconnect to our network. The LAN is enabled
and status show the connection is OK, but I am unabale to
reconnect to any network drives.

I've obviously stuffed it up, but don't know how to fix
it. Any suggestions????
