cannot recieve emails.

My computer has formed a loop in my outlook express, not allowing any new
emails, pretty sure got something to do with it trying to recieve from pop
ups (which i am unable to stop and does not progress). can anyone help?

Try disabling e-mail scanning in your antivirus program. You don't need it
anyway.

If no luck try to telnet to the e-mail server. Go to Start > Run and type
these commands:

telnet pop-server.yourserver 110
user <yourname>
pass <yourpassword>
list
quit

If you successfully logged in and the LIST command worked then you can
reach their mail server's host, and their mail program is running and
responsive. If not, you should contact your ISP or the company providing
the e-mail account.
